Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem solvers who bring different perspectives and willing to take risks. We are searching for strong individuals, who wish to bring their knowledge and education and pass it onto communities and workplaces through volunteering in Tanzania (Arusha) We believe that this education and sharing of knowledge is the way to solve many of the problems that developing countries in the 21^st century is facing. Having seen the bad effects of “volunteerism” many of the volunteering platforms create, we wished to find more sustainable projects where the impact will last and not just be forgotten by the next arriving volunteers. We wish to create platforms specially for volunteers. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF VOLUNTEERS

1. Teaching English to children.
2. Cooking for children under supervisions of Mamas at our Centre.
3. Coordinating volunteering activities & programs.
4. Coordinating fundraising campaigns for raising money for the foundation.
5. Coordinating the outreach programs including home visiting and community activities.
6. Designs, develops and manage our social media and website.
7. Assisting in building projects for chicken and classrooms for the kids.
8. Volunteer in Tourism.
9. Not only this but we have a connection to Hospitals for medical and Health volunteers and other who are looking forward to work in our youths and women program by sharing their knowledge and skills in order to make them caring and thoughtful towards sustainable future in rural areas of Arusha Region.

NOTE: The maximum working hours are only 5 hours a day. We don’t work at the weekend but rather we have a very fascinating programs to visit Maasai village, Hiking, Dy Trips, Safari and other outdoor activities.

FREE TIME ACTIVITIES

During the weekends and at a National holiday in Tanzania that is your private time to go out in Arusha, go to Maasai village for cultural exchange Safari and visit hot spring in Moshi. Also, if you like physical exercise, there are gym rooms near our volunteers’ house & accommodation. You can also decide to do a mountain bike for your own leisure

LANGUAGE SPOKEN AND INTERNET

Swahili and English language is the most spoken language in Tanzania while most of the kids and other people in the Village speaks Swahili much compare to English. The Internet is also available and we will assist you to get the local SIM cards.

VOLUNTEER VISA

Your volunteer VISA should be obtained from Tanzania Embassy in your country. It sounds a bit cheap when you have your Tanzanian VISA in your country but you can also obtain it in Tanzania Airport upon arrival. It will cost you 250 USD with 90 days validity. Please don’t forget to write to us on volunteering@sunriseforhope.org_ when you are about to start your journey to Tanzania East Africa.

Volunteers

As a volunteer you will have the possibility to take part in the daily procedures which includes helping to teach, correcting exercises, drawing and crafting with the children, singing and dancing with them or planning outdoor activities. You are free to implement new and creative ideas to stimulate the leaning process. Furthermore, you can update the website if necessary. Another important task is fundraising since this is a crucial aspect to secure long-term support for the Sunrise for Hope Foundation. Recently, we are starting a farming project so that the foundation can become self-sufficient one day. You are welcome to also help us with the duties in this project. VOLUNTEERS BENEFITS

Our volunteers will be responsible for: –

1. Designing studying plan and extra curriculums.
2. Teaching and facilitating pupils in extra curriculum

• Observing the progress of pupils, making assessment reports on pupils’ ability to improve their skills.

1. Reporting to the foundation on the quality of the program and proposing ideas to improve the quality.
2. Writing annual reports on what has been done by the foundation.

EDUCATION SUPPORT

The program is to support most vulnerable children (MVC) especially orphans and disabled ones access good education through providing scholastic materials, uniforms, health insurance, sanitary pads for girls, bicycles for students who are making long distance to school, paying tuition fees and other instructional contribution for advanced secondary and vocational training studies and ensuring thatevery child receive a good education as a fundamental right from early education to tertiary level.

SUPPORT CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEED

Children with disabilities or special needs are particular vulnerable so they need safe adult to advocate for their best interests and rights.

Children with special needs are special kids and God made them in a unique way. They are gifted and talented. They need love, one-on-one care, attention, a sense of belonging and identity, being part of the community, trusting and honest relationship, friendly and safe place to learn, play, grow and develop their talents.

SUPPORT SUNRISE FOR HOPE FOUNDATION

A great way of being involved with Sunrise for Hope other than sponsoring a child is to support our general running costs for our residential center and our nursery school!

As well as the costs involved in feeding and clothing our children, we have additional regular costs such as: –

• Salaries for our Tanzania staffs.
• Transport for our children
• Maintenance of our classrooms and playground.
• We are also looking forward to buy the land for building our own premises.
• Rent for the premises we are currently using.
• Buying food for the children and vulnerable families.

These costs are not met by the sponsorship of an individual child. So how about getting involved with Sunrise for Hope by giving to our general costs? You choose how much you want to give. We have sponsors who gives between 5 Euro a month to Euro 100+ a month to the project. Every single Euro makes a difference. Look at what these amounts can cover on a monthly basis.

Euro 10 covers one free place for a vulnerable child at Sunrise for Hope Nursery school.

Euro 35 covers cooking fuel costs

Euro 100 covers the salary for one staff member

Euro 100 cover general household expenses

Euro 75 covers transport/petrol costs

Euro 200 is salary for two staff members

OUR  ACCOMODATION

We have hostel where volunteer s, interns and travelers stay together in the district of Arusha close to the city center. It takes few minutes to walk to the city center. To get the city quickly, there are motorcycle cabs and dala-dalas (mini buses) everywhere.

In our Hostel we have enough space to relax, a convenient shop, a roof terrace with bar and 24/7 security guards. We have 6 and 4 person dormitories as well as double and single rooms. Each room has its own bathroom with hot shower. In addition, each guest has a safe that can be secured with a lock. The rooms are of separate gender. If you would like to have a private room (extra charge) you will let us know.

The cost for accommodation is 20 EURO per night per person in a double room. The price includes:

• On the first day information and city trip to Arusha for shopping, changing money and obtaining the local SIM card.
• Daily European breakfast.
• Towel, bath towels.
• Daily room cleaning.
• Internet access.
• Contact person around the clock.
